Walgreens Enhances Telecare App With Coronavirus-Related Features

Walgreens has expanded its Find Care app to assist customers seeking telecare during the COVID-19 pandemic. Walgreens Find Care now includes a COVID-19 Risk Assessment feature to help users assess their risk based on CDC guidelines, as well as information on COVID-19 clinical trials through the Find My Clinical Trial program.

The retailer also has expanded its roster of national and regional partners and can now connect customers with more than 30 providers who treat over 100 conditions through the app. Walgreens is putting an emphasis on expanding telecare access in the states most impacted by COVID-19, including New York, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Michigan and Florida.

Usage of the Walgreens mobile app is up 22% year-over-year and 12% year-to-date. In addition to Find Care, the app lets shoppers fill prescriptions and choose their preferred delivery option, with all shipping free during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The recent expansion of Walgreens Find Care is another example of how we are enabling patients to get care when and how they need it,” said Giovanni Monti, SVP of Health Care Services at Walgreens Boots Alliance in a statement. “We continue to grow our partnerships with some of the most trusted local and national providers to offer telehealth solutions that can help patients better meet their acute and chronic care needs, especially during this unprecedented time of social distancing.”
