Perry Ellis Debuts ‘Eco Denim’ Line Made from Recycled Textile Waste

Perry Ellis's new line of eco-denim made from recycled textile waste.

Perry Ellis is partnering with materials science firm Recover to create “eco denim” collections using low-impact recycled cotton fiber.

The first Perry Ellis x Recover capsule collection launched with 10 styles of low-impact men’s denim pants as part of the brand’s spring 2023 line and is currently available exclusively on PerryEllis.com. Each piece in the collection contains 20% Recover recycled cotton fiber, created from textile waste, and was produced by Recover’s vertically integrated strategic partner Artistic Denim Mills (ADM).

“This partnership underscores our dedication to collaborating on sustainability solutions,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO and President of Perry Ellis International in a statement. “By incorporating Recover fiber into our product design, we can offer our consumers high-quality garments that help reduce our fashion carbon footprint.”

Perry Ellis isn’t alone in looking to use more sustainable materials in its supply chain. A number of major retailers, including H&M, Inditex, Lacoste and Ralph Lauren, are part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Make Fashion Circular initiative, which includes the Jeans Redesign project to create denim products more aligned with the concepts of a circular economy.
