He founded the business following the release of his 2004 book, The Medici Effect: What Elephants and Epidemics Can Teach Us About Innovation. The book drove home one key point, according to Johansson: “Diversity drives innovation. When you bring together different perspectives, you have a better shot at breaking new ground.”
